Ce premier Montreal Upgrade avec Yael Kanarek (New York)

Yael Kanarek (New York), fondatrice de The Upgrade!, une série mensuelle de colloques tenue à New York et à Vancouver, présente l’originalité de cette initiative créée par et pour les artistes des nouveaux médias. A l’issue de ce premier The Upgrade! Montréal, le DJ et hôte tobias c. van Veen assurera une ambiance techno propice à la rencontre et la discussion. Les artistes en nouveaux médias sont invités à participer et à s’informer pour présenter leurs travaux lors des prochaines éditions.

The Upgrade! Montreal launches its first gathering of new media artists and curators on Friday, October 1st, 2004, at the Society for Arts and Technology (SAT).

The Upgrade! is a gathering of local practitioners and curators in the digital arts (new media, computing, video, net and technology arts). At every Upgrade, an artist or curator presents his or her work (audio-visual support provided). Local artists and curators are encouraged to attend and to present their works at future gatherings.

At the first Montreal edition, The Upgrade! NYC founder, digital arts curator and artist Yael Kanarek will be speaking on The Upgrade!’s unique history as well as discussing and presenting her work in new media.

Following the inaugural Upgrade! Montreal, DJ and host tobias c. van Veen will provide a warm techno atmosphere in which to mix and converse. SAT’s Cafe bar will be open.

The Upgrade! is part of SAT’s [3p] project of wiring the digital arts between Montreal, Boston, NYC and points in-between.
