We present to you yet another packed evening of new media & electronic music,experimental turntablism, mixing & video: what could it be but an Upgrade! ?! This month we are honoured to present two of Saskatchewan’s superbly strange artists,curators & musicans, Carrie Gates & Jon Vaughn. The duo run the BricoLodge sublabel of Montreal’s NoType.com and are both producers of experimental music (Carrie as anexperimental turntablist with VinylInterventions.com; Jon, with improvisational electronics & composition). Carrie is a curator at paved Art + New Media in Saskatoon & Jon is also awacked-out DJ. Don’t miss their presentation. The rest of this motley crew arrives from all over with a diversity of interests: Doug van Noort is adoctoral candidate in Music Technology at McGill University and will present some of his software creations for music production in Max/MSP and beyond; and Charles Stankievich, an ex-Vancouverite, is a performance artist and closet Lacanian who will also delve into the realm of software and Max/MSP. Nous vous présentons une autre soirée remplie de musique électronique et des nouveauxmédias, d’expérimentation aux tables tournantes, de mixage et vidéo : que pourrait est-ce d’autre qu’un Upgrade !?! Ce mois-ci nous sommes fiers de vous présenter deux artistes superbement étranges deSaskatchewan, des musiciens et conservateurs, Carrie Gates et Jon Vaughn. Le duo gère le label BricoLodge affilié à l’étiquette montréalaise NoType.com. Ils sont tous les deuxréalisateurs de musique expérimentale (Carrie comme DJ avec VinylInterventions.com; Jon, avec de la composition et de l’improvisation électroniques. Carrie est conservatrice chezpaved Art + New Media à Saskatoon et John est également un DJ complètement fou. Ne ratez pas leur présentation! Le reste de cette équipe bariolée représente bien des endroits et des intérêts divers : Dougvan Noort est un étudiant au doctorat en Technologie musicale à l’Université McGill et fera la démonstration de certains de ses logiciels de production musicale en Max/MSP, entre autres; et Charles Stankievich, un ex-Vancouverois, est artiste de performance et Lacanien secret qui abordera lui aussi les logiciels et le Max/MSP.
